New horse Forrardon Xmoor at Perth

Forrardon Xmoor made his debut for the club in a 3 mile chase at Perth with Richard Johnson onboard. Johnson and Gordon Elliott have been in a great form together in Scotland and England recently so despite the horse being off the track for over a year, Sporting Life weren't ruling out him being placed as their new insights feature highlighted "hot jockey" and "hot trainer". I had a bet on all the Elliott/Johnson runners at the meeting and the bookies were offering me almost all my stake money back via cash out as soon as I made the bet. That's how much they fear them at the minute.

Our horse was in the 2nd race with Johnson and Elliott already off the mark in the first. This was always going to be tougher and so it proved. Forrardon Xmoor has a link to the club as he is by Fair Mix who was also the sire of the unfortunate Bettatogther. You can see from club member Marilyn Nicholson's photo that he's a big, grey, chasing type but he was a bit exuberant with his jumping early on and by the start of the second lap he was dropping out of the picture and soon Dicky was standing up on his irons to pull him up. Alex reported he was fine after but the pace was just too much for him though she thinks he will have more luck over the winter. There's a picture of him below back in his box at home enjoying an easy day.

Dicky and Gordon didn't have as much success as has become normal. They had 2 short odds winners and a couple of places, one of those narrowly missed out on making it a 3 timer.
