Fairy Flute at Limerick

Fairy Flute was entered in a 1m 3f flat race on a course she has ran well at before. This was slightly shorter than the 1m 4f she has competed at several times so far this year so I was hoping to see some improvement. However it was the same story. She ran well up to the point when she needed to accelerate. Sean Davis, claiming 2lb, took the ride. Sean was on board her this time last year at Limerick when she finished 2nd in a 1m race. She finished 9th here and was off the bridle from about 3 furlongs out which is rarely a good sign. This was a hands and heels race which means no whip but Sean thought she would have benefited from that if it were under normal rules. It's hard to see why we keep persisting with her at 1m 4 and now 1m 3f as she has always finished 8th or 9th. Before she came to the club she was placed twice in 2 races around a mile so hopefully she gets a chance at that distance soon.
